My first blog post (SYSE 515)
Hello everybody,
My name is Ji Ung Yang, you can call me Ji Ung.
I was born in South Korea and I became a U.S. citizen a couple of years ago.
I am a new student at Embry-Riddle and working on my first class, SYSE 515.
I love playing golf, as well as finding interesting golf clubs, both for their design and aesthetics.
Wee, I currently have two full irons set with 5 colourful drivers & two rare putters. I also enjoy bowling as well.
I have a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgical Engineering and my previous experience includes working as a Human Resources specialist as a KATUSA (Korean Augmentation to the United States Army), an international services coordinator at Yonsei University in Seoul South Korea, and acting as a general secretary of the KATUSA Veterans Association of Washington.
I am currently working as a freelance translator, Korean language tutor and volunteering for the Korean branch of the KATUSA veterans association as the administration manager in South Korea.
As I have had lots of chances to meet and interact with people in many different industry fields and military, it has come to my mind that I would like to use my knowledge that I have gained from my university and my work experience for a greater purpose. With that, I hope that this MSYSE degree will be my cornerstone for my future career.
As technology continues to be developed in this fast changing complex world, the role of systems engineering is becoming more important.
I am excited that I will be learning a lot from the course and you.
Hi Ji Ung -- Looks like we're in Group Foxtrot. You are seven (7) times zones ahead of me! We are definitely the "outliers" in the class. Looking forward to our Group Discussions and getting the assignments done!
